  1. Well, the hollyhocks have finally bloomed.  To be honest I thought I'd grown the double bloomed hollyhock but it turns out they are only the single.  Never mind, they still look good and they are better for the bees because they can get into the flower to collect the pollen much easier.

    I knew they would be tall but I really didn't expect them to be 7 foot tall!

  2. Have you seen any of these caterpillars in your garden?  They are around at the moment.

    Black, hairy caterpillar with an orangy/red line running down the centre of its body.

    These little creatures will become the white ermine moth often seen around the garden.
