apps
In January's meeting we discussed the use of some apps which can be used on your phones. These are free to use and we felt would be useful to the gardener!
Always make sure you only download from trusted sources.
Merlin id
This is a great app! You have a sound ID, so if you start recording the app will list the birds it recognises from their songs. It helps in recognising the songs of individual birds and it is amazing the birds it lists that you probably never see.
flora incognita
This app will take a photo of a flower and supply the name of the plant. If it doesn't recognise it from the flower it will prompt you to take a photo of the stem or other parts of the plant.
A great app and so useful even if it just to recognise the weeds!
