Bloody Butcher

Posted on

I try to grow a few varieties of tomato each year just to try something different.  One of these this year is Bloody Butcher, just because the name made me laugh.

So far I've been quite impressed with these.  I planted the seeds on 8th March and had the first red tomato on 30th June.  This is a German heirloom variety and is one of the earliest varieties to set fruit.

I have got some plants growing in the greenhouse and have planted some outdoors.  Although we don't seem to be having a good summer at the moment a number of fruit have already set on the outdoor plants.

I'll let you know later in the season about the flavour!
